Rehab has been anything but easy—a constant batt

Rehab has been anything but easy—a constant battle physically and mentally. Some days feel like progress, others like I’m back at square one. No athlete wants to be injured, and I definitely don’t enjoy being in the gym every day, feeling helpless that I can’t help my teammates, and wishing I was out there doing what I love.I’ve kept quiet, hoping to update everyone when I had a clear idea of my return. But truthfully, I’m still unsure, and that in itself is frustrating. I don’t like talking about injuries—it’s exhausting and consuming and I’d prefer my actions to speak louder than my words. I’ve pulled back from updating those closest to me because not having good news feels like I’m letting them down. But I thought it was only right for you to hear an update from me personally.This process has been tough, and I’ve questioned if I’m done. But my love and passion for the game is still there and feel that once my body is right, I have more in the tank to give. I wouldn’t put myself through this if I didn’t love doing it and that’s the main reason what keeps me coming back for more. When people express frustration about me not playing, there’s no one more frustrated than me, it doesn’t help me get back any sooner, and it definitely doesn’t make this process any easier.I’ve learned how important it is to keep my mind busy. Sitting in frustration can be toxic, so I’m finding balance—staying focused on my goals while making space for things that bring me joy beyond football.I’m focused on what truly matters—my recovery, doing all I can within my control, supporting my team from the stands for now and the people who support me through it all.The road back continues 👊🏾🩵KS
